Your Sinuses: Now in 3D!
One of the most valuable tools we have at our disposal at the Los Angeles Sinus Institute is cutting-edge CT scanning technology. Diagnosing sinus issues accurately without imaging can be a challenge, especially if more than one factor is involved. Human sinuses are complicated structures, and the list of things that can obstruct, infect, or otherwise ail them is long and ignoble. With 3D imaging, we can give all our patients the detailed answers they want within a matter of minutes.
How does it work? We use the Xoran MiniCAT scanner, an incredibly accurate device that gives our patients a great balance of convenience and comfort. The CT is conducted in a sitting position in the open air, so you never have to worry about being slid into the claustrophobic confines of a typical CT machine. The scan is fast as well, over in less than a minute. And the results are immediate: your Los Angeles sinus specialist can usually give you a clear answer on the spot.
I chose the Xoran MiniCAT for many reasons, but the principal among these is its compliance with so-called ALARA guidelines, which stands for “as low as reasonably achievable.” The term refers to radiation dosage and fits in nicely with my philosophy of limiting my patients’ radiation exposure and risk as much as possible.
If you are looking for a fast sinus issue diagnosis and do not want to keep driving from one office to the next, I urge you to contact the Los Angeles Sinus Institute today. We have everything you need on-site, all staffed and operated by a top team of Los Angeles sinus surgeons.
