Snoring Too Much? There’s an App for That
It is a cliché of modern times that smartphones have become “everything machines” – they manage our schedules, sort our photos, supply our distractions, even deliver our relationships. Now some enterprising coders have come up with yet another trick: using a smartphone to contain snoring.
It is more than an idle amusement. Snoring, even in its mild form, can interfere with deep sleep and keep partners awake long past bedtime. If you live alone (or find yourself without an unbelievably patient partner), you can keep track of your own nighttime disturbances simply by starting this app before you slumber:
The Sleep Talk Recorder is active all night, but it doesn’t eat up the space on your phone. It turns on when there’s a noise, a loud snore.
If you wake up to dozens of recorded “events,” chances are you’re not sleeping well. Of course knowledge is merely Step One: there are several remedies for snoring, up to and including sinus surgery procedures such as septoplasty or turbinate reduction.
To learn more, just call my offices today. Turns out you can use for the phone for that too.
