A Sinus Surgery Q&A
I am proud to be a member of several professional and accrediting organizations. One of these, The American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, is the foremost organization and authority in my field. The organization’s website frequently posts about topics of interest in the news and in academic journals, but its authors also generate some more popular articles for general use.
This one recently caught my eye – a nice, lucid Q&A that covers various issues surrounding sinus surgery. What I especially appreciate about the article is its complete review of the diagnostic process – a process which can include, among other things culture, allergy testing, endoscopy and CT scans, all of which I offer through my own sinus surgery practice:
Q. What other diagnostic procedures might be taken?
A. Other diagnostic tests may include a study of a mucous culture, endoscopy, x-rays, allergy testing, or CT scan of the sinuses.
