I was an intern in General Surgery with Dr. Zadeh at Columbia New York Presbyterian Hospital.
Dr. Zadeh was the superstar of our class of 25 young physicians. His surgical brilliance was matched only by his infectious enthusiasm for managing patients and working with others. Whenever he was around in the operating room or out, there was a sense that everything was going to be alright. I have now known Dr. Zadeh for twelve years and followed his career with interest and affection.
I can say without reservation that I would refer members of my own family to Dr. Zadeh with great confidence. He is a once-in-a-generation type of physician.
It has not quite been a year since my balloon sinuplasy, but I felt compelled to thank you for everything that you have done. I remember first coming to you, absolutely desperate, as I had sinusitis for nearly all of my life, causing me to had a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy at 2 and 1/2 years of age. From there, I proceeded through many years of antibiotics, nasal sprays, and most tragically, flare-ups every 6-8 weeks, causing me to feel sick for weeks on end. After reaching a breaking point at around 35 years old, I proceeded investigating surgical options, seeing 5-6 ENT’s and 2 surgeons. Finally, my primary care physician suggested that I contact you. Your approach was methodical and meticulous, starting with a conservative course of treatment—antibiotics, sprays, allergy shots etc. Because I did not have too much luck with those treatments, we proceeded with the in-office balloon sinuplasty. The procedure was a breeze, taking about 2 hours in the office, with no pain and only mild discomfort for a few hours. Hillary was nothing less than amazing during the procedure—she was both nurturing and knowledgably, a fantastic combination.
Since the procedure on 12/9/11, I have not had any sinus issues. I am hesitant to mention this, as I am scared to jinx my good-fortune. My true good fortune, however, was finding you as a doctor.
I thank you for your distinctive approach to medicine; I thank you for you for honoring and respecting your patients; I thank you for fixing my sinuses; I thank you for making me happy. You are my hero.
Dear Dr. Zadeh,
I personally want to thank you for your assistance with my dad, Ray H. You came into the case with no prior knowledge and you were so kind and patient. You dealt with the case with both common sense and intellectual acumen. While your reputation precedes you, I can’t express enough how impressed I have been with your professionalism. Obviously, your reputation is well deserved. I shall also like to compliment your staff, both front desk and Hillary, who were very patient with a concerned daughter.
Thanks again for your efforts.
I had spent decades living with my sinus/allergy/breathing issues and had resigned myself to thinking that perhaps this was just the way things had to be…and that I was always going to feel tired/have to take allergy pills and decongestants. So after all that time, you can understand why I was a bit skeptical when my primary care doctor suggested I see an ENT doctor.
However after the meeting with you, I realized that life didn’t have to be this way.
After my septoplasty and turbinate surgery I can’t tell you what a world of difference it’s been. I no longer feel that extreme fatigue I normally felt when I woke up in the morning and have a lot more energy. And thanks to allergy shots, I’m not dying like I normally am this time of year.
Anyway, just wanted to say: THANK YOU!!
Thank you for your surgical expertise and excellent patient-doctor rapport. We appreciate everything you and your staff have done to make my husband’s surgery a success.
Dear Dr. Zadeh,
I experienced a very horrific ordeal when the large blood vessel in my nose broke. It literally scarred me beyond anything imaginable.
I have been on this earth for many years and I must say that your professional presence and soothing demeanor were deeply appreciated, welcomed and needed at that moment.
You are an incredible doctor, your healing hands encompassed a great deal of passion, concern and care. Thank you for my life.
I will always be grateful to you for being such a skilled surgeon.
Thank you very much.
Dr. Mani Zadeh cares for our entire family; each with various upper respiratory problems. Each of us feels a comfort level in telling friends, colleagues and family about Dr. Zadeh’s expertise in the field. Dr. Zadeh has always given us, no matter our age or medical concerns, the time to explain our ailment in understandable words. He has alleviated our fears and cured our ills.
After an appointment with Dr. Zadeh, we each received a phone call from him asking how we were and did we have any questions. Is that called a medical mensch? His expertise is superb, his bedside manner superb, his amazing knowledge on each case exudes trust, faith and the assurance of healing.
I am not a doctor, I am a patient who trusts Dr. Zadeh, and he knows that any question I may have is not foolish or stupid; it’s important and he answers. We as a family feel blessed to have Dr. Zadeh in our lives as a physician and a trusted person.
Dr. Zadeh is simply the very best! When my life was at risk with cancer, Dr. Zadeh performed difficult surgeries in my throat and neck. They were a great success, and he did them so skillfully that the scars are not even visible. Besides, my ability to speak has been undamaged. The follow-up care, over several years, has been quite thorough and wonderful, as Dr. Zadeh is a dedicated physician, whose expertise and caring for the patient has given me great assurance.
I have sent my family members to Dr. Zadeh, and I highly recommend him regarding all ENT matters. I am truly appreciative to know Dr. Zadeh.
When I was diagnosed with Head and Neck Cancer in June 2008, Dr. Zadeh informed my spouse and I that the Stage 3 tumor could not be removed surgically due to its location and that I should seek the care of an oncology specialist immediately. Gentle, timely, honest information.
Dr. Zadeh became our point person during and after the chemotherapy and radiation treatments. He gave us a clear and concise understanding of our progress against the cancer. He really listened and answered our endless questions with patience and kindness.
Dr. Zadeh was and continues to be our front line of defense in making sure the cancer stays gone. We are quite fortunate to have him on our team.
I am breathing better than I have in 15 years thanks to Dr. Zadeh’s work on my nose and sinuses. The surgery he performed was very successful thanks to his excellent technical skills as a surgeon. And equally important, I received the most professional, personalized care possible. Dr. Zadeh ensured that I understood the process every step of the way and tookpains to keep me informed. He personally followed-up with me several times in the week after my surgery to make sure I was healing properly and that I wasn’t in too much discomfort.
I am most appreciative of his caring attitude towards patent care and would highly recommend him.
Dear Dr. Mani Zadeh,
I don’t know how to find the words to say how I felt when you walked in and told us that Blake, my son, was going to be O.K. You were our angel Saturday. Your kindness and sincerity were very much appreciated.
The world is lucky to have you in it. We wish much success and beauty in your life. Forever grateful.
I’ve taken the liberty of dropping for the moment the doctor title. I do this because the care both medically and emotionally you provided dad was far beyond what most doctors would have done.
Your support of dad and all my family was tremendous and for this I am eternally grateful. You are a wonderful person (not just doctor).
I am a recent beneficiary of sinus surgery performed by Dr. Zadeh. It has truly changed many aspects of my day to day life. At first I thought it would just make it “easier” to breath. However, I now realize all the other benefits which include better sleep (and much more energy the next day due to same); better concentration during the day; easier time working out; not to mention just not having to think about where my nose spray and tissues are all the time. The decision to have the surgery is honestly one of the best I ever made.
With respect to the staff, Dr. Zadeh and his team were amazingly attentive and helpful throughout both the decision process and the post surgery follow ups. I felt very informed and was surprised how quick the recovery was. Overall the experience was very positive and I would recommend both the surgery and Dr. Zadeh to anyone needing sinus surgery.
I travel all the way from Pasadena (San Gabriel Valley) to Century City to be under Dr. Zadeh’s care. I have been doing this for the past 2+ years. Also, even before I had PPO insurance, I used to pay out-of-pocket for his personal attention and expertise. In return… HE GAVE ME MY LIFE BACK! (Finally I had the sinus surgery I desperately needed! It went smoothly and I have never felt better!)
Thank you for THAT Dr. Zadeh!
In late February, I had sinus surgery performed by Dr. Zadeh to reduce the frequency and severity of my chronic sinus infections. The surgery went without incident and the recovery process was right on schedule. My follow-up care with the doctor was friendly and helpful. And my sinuses have remained consistently more clear since the surgery.
Case in point: before the surgery, I took a decongestant pill every day to try and keep my sinuses clear. Since the surgery four months ago, I have taken a total of five decongestant pills.
I have had a very positive experience throughout this process.
I’m usually quite the cynic. Being uninsured, I have a pretty hard time trusting the medical establishment. Not only did I find Dr. Zadeh trustworthy but as far as I’m concerned he’s one heck of a doctor. Not to mention, a pretty nice guy. You know…bedside manners and all. Of course, it’s not every day that one has a septoplasty….so in all honesty…it would be impossible to compare. Really…it’s not like a haircut. I can say this however. After the surgery, I didn’t need a single pain killer…not one…and to me…that is the sign of a man that knows how to “wield a knife”. And, if you’re like me, and have googled every possible forum thread and comment regarding septoplasty on the internet…rest assured…it works. Will I be back to use Dr. Zadeh’s services in the future? I sure hope not! That would mean that something else is wrong with me. However, in hindsight (being 20/20 and all) I feel that I made the right choice and would recommend him to anybody.
I can BREATHE!
My septum was deviated in three places and any air that could get through was blocked by my allergies. Dr. Zadeh fixed my nose 100%. It was truly miraculous, now I can breathe through my nose, something I never thought would be possible. Dr. Zadeh is not only an excellent surgeon, but a good person as well. He answered all my questions, was always patient, and often called after surgery to see how I was.
I would highly recommend Dr. Zadeh to anyone.
It is a great pleasure knowing Dr. Zadeh. Dr. Zadeh has operated on my daughter? throat and my nose. My daughter was getting sick every month and thanks to Dr. Zadeh she is fine now. As far as myself I could not breathe easy, especially at night and now 3 months after surgery it is much better and I am grateful to Dr. Zadeh for all his expertise and kindness.
He is a wonderful person aside from being a great doctor. Thanks for all your help.
Dr. Zadeh is the best surgeon in Los Angeles. When he operated on my thyroid gland, after a few weeks you can’t even see where the scar is. Not only he is fantastic surgeon, he is also one of the kindest human beings I have known.
I recommend him highly.
After having sinus problem after sinus problem, I ultimately ended up having to take the next step and go through with surgery. Dr. Zadeh made me feel comfortable and was very informative about every step of the process. He personally called me after surgery to make sure that I was doing okay throughout the recovery process. It was such a nice surprise to have a doctor that is completely hands-on and does not pass you along to their assistants. Dr. Zadeh makes you feel very comfortable and is a very genuine doctor you can trust. I have already recommended him to numerous friends and family members who have sinus issues.
I wish all doctors could be like Dr. Zadeh.
All I can say about Dr. Zadeh is that besides being an incredible surgeon and doctor, I found him to be not only thorough in checking everything out with my primary physician before going forward with my surgery, but I was so impressed with his concern, caring attitude and bedside manner.
And he cleared up my sinuses to boot.
I have been a patient of Dr. Zadeh for quite a few years now and I am pleased with his work. It? been over one year since the surgery and I? so grateful to Dr. Zadeh, as well as his staff, for the treatment I received before, during, and after my surgery. Everyone was so professional, friendly, helpful, and efficient. I? so grateful that my experience was a positive one. I waited many years and wondered if it would be a good decision to undergo a tonsillectomy since it tends to be a very painful operation in adults, but all of my questions and concerns were answered with ease. Dr. Zadeh was great at explaining the procedure step-by-step and relieved me of my worries. He was always so helpful and took the time to explain things to me and listened to my needs.
Thanks to Dr. Zadeh and his very qualified staff, I felt no pain or any discomfort during the surgery. I had very little discomfort during the recovery. I had the usual swelling and redness as expected, but the benefits are outstanding. The surgery went extremely well. He did an amazing job. It was also comforting to know that I could call him directly or the office at any time for any reason and have a helpful, patient, and understanding voice on the other end.
Overall, Dr. Zadeh is very knowledgeable and did an awesome job. I would feel very comfortable recommending Dr. Zadeh to anyone.
I had been experiencing ongoing tonsil issues for nearly 10 years, which were significantly worse in the last 4.5 years, and had been seen by several specialists over a number of years without any resolution. I was finally referred to Dr. Zadeh, who correctly diagnosed my condition, and offered a permanent solution through tonsillectomy. His approach was efficient and effective, and I no longer have any issues with my tonsils, which is such a relief after 10 years of low-grade infection. Through this experience with Dr. Zadeh, I have learned that he is an excellent doctor, and more importantly, a talented and precise surgeon. In addition, his bedside manner was very kind and compassionate, which was very comforting. I would highly recommend Dr. Zadeh for any ENT issues, especially for issues that have not been adequately addressed by other doctors or ENT specialists. In addition, Jennifer, his surgery coordinator, did such a great job managing all of the administrative details that the required appointments and paperwork were essentially seamlessly addressed behind the scenes.
I feel very fortunate to have been referred to Dr. Zadeh, and this experience has changed my life as I no longer have to live with chronic tonsil infections. Thank you so much, Dr. Zadeh.
